The machine is like vacuum container and the material will be heated inside the container. The menstruum mostly water which need to be volatilized and let the material become dry is easy to be vaporized under vacuum condition. If the vacuum pump is applied to draw out the water and keep the vessel in a low air pressure condition, the whole dry process will be accelerate. If the menstruum need to be collected after it was been vaporized from the material, the condenser can be used to cool the gas into liquid state. If the menstruum is simple water then condenser is unnecessary.

The boiling point of the menstruum (water commonly) will fall when in vacuum condition and it would make the heating efficiency enlarge and save a lot of energy. Due to there is no material like hot air will combine with the material to be dried in the process so the material will never be polluted and the material will not be damaged when drying for the whole process is in static state.
